The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has criticized the ruling government's attitude towards the striking teachers.

Three groups of teachers; the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT) are currently on strike over legacy arrears owed some teachers.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has described the strike action by the teachers as illegal and a clear case of betrayal, urging the teacher unions to rescind their decision and rather adhere to the agreed principles to resolve the case.

Meanwhile, some government communicators reacting to this issue claim the NDC has no moral right to criticize the government for not paying the arrears because it accumulated under the Mahama-led administration.

Kwesi Pratt who was speaking to the issue on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo' chastised government communicators for not being sensitive to the plights of the teachers.
