L’aine Foundation to launch Entrepreneurship Challenge

L’aine Foundation, a non-governmental organization and a subsidiary of L’aine services has hinted at launching an entrepreneurship challenge for members of its entrepreneurship club.

The Entrepreneurship club which is found in 13 schools with over 300 members within the Ledzorkuku-Krowor Municipality (LEKMA) seeks to build and improve students’ proficiency in leadership and problem-solving.

“The whole idea is to develop word class entrepreneurs and we believe we can do that if we start from the tender age, if we catch them young that is when we can inculcate the mindset of entrepreneurs into them, so that is why we have started with the Junior High Schools, but we will gradually move to the Senior High and the Universities” he added.

According to Mr. Annang, the need to start an entrepreneurship club is as a result of the increasing gap between industries and the number of graduates leaving various tertiary institutions on a yearly basis.

“We as L’aine have noticed the need for job creation because we’ve been trying to get job for people and if we are to match the number of application we get on a daily basis as against the number of jobs out there, its highly difficult that everyone will get a job and so the need to try and encourage young ones to create jobs for themselves,” he added.



To keep in touch with the students, Mr. Annang said, the foundation has instituted a regular club session in the various schools with the participants where they are taking through how to create and write business proposals and other business creation models, adding that the Entrepreneurship challenges is to encourage students to come up with solutions to problems they face in their various schools.



“We organize club sessions in the various schools where we meet with the students bi-weekly and take them through the models created on how to write a business proposal, how to develop a business plan, etc,” he noted.

Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Business Development, Acting Chief Director of the Ministry, Joe Tackie pledged the ministry’s support to the foundation

He urged all the participants to invest their time in developing their skills and add value to themselves.

“We wish to support and pledge our commitment to the very big scope of entrepreneurship development in the country,” he said

Mr. Tackie hinted of a national entrepreneurship policy soon to be outdoored by the Business Development Ministry.

The Challenge according to Mr. Annang will officially be launched in March.
