The Council of Elders of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) has reduced the filing fee for flagbearer hopefuls to GHC300,000 from the initial GHC400,000 after some aggrieved flagbearer aspirants boycotted the processes on the basis that the fee was exorbitant.
The Council of Elders also extended the closing date for the picking of forms to Saturday December 8 while the date for election of the party’s flagbearer has also been moved to January 26, 2019.
Barely days after the announcement was made, one of the aspirants, Elikplim Agbemava pulled out of the contest to throw his weight behind former President John Mahama.
On energy, government has withdrawn the controversial AMERI novation agreement before Parliament. The government has replaced it with what it has captioned “renegotiated and enhanced terms” of the power management with AMERI.
According to Energy Minister, Peter Amewu, the decision was due to another revision of the already reviewed agreement by the government.

Away from politics and gold dealership firm, Menzgold Ghana Limited, has asked its staff to proceed on leave effective Monday, December 10. The company said it arrived at the decision as a result of unceasing threats to its properties as well as staff of the company.
