Landguards assault court bailiff; destroy farmlands at Agbazo

Landguards have attacked an Accra High Court bailiff in Agbazo, Greater Accra, while serving an injunction to stop sand winning on 750-acre farmland.

The farmers, including the 2021 Greater Accra Regional Best Farmer, Osmanu Kadri, claim police presence did not lead to arrests.

The landguards, armed and dangerous, have destroyed crops under the Planting for Food and Jobs policy, threatening the livelihoods of hundreds of farmers.

The farmers have appealed to the IGP and President Akufo-Addo for intervention, citing brutalization and torment by landguards.
