Farouk Aliu Mahama, Member of Parliament for Yendi, has announced plans to erect a statue in honor of his late father, former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama.
The statue will be placed at a roundabout in Yendi, where beautification work is already underway.
This will coincide with the 11th anniversary of Alhaji Aliu Mahama’s death on November 16, 2012.
In addition, the Yendi section of the Eastern Corridor road will be named after him. The statue will be unveiled on November 30, 2024.
Farouk expressed pride in his father's legacy of service, which will be honored by the community and his family.
