A Political Science Lecturer at the University of Cape Coast, Mr. Jonathan Asante Okyere has observed that the lazy attitude of some ministers in Akufo-Addo’s administration is likely to cause the party’s defeat in 2020.

Reacting to a survey report released by, the Alliance For Social Equity And Public Accountability – ASEPA, over the performance of some selected Ministers, as well as appointees without portfolios, he noted that it must be a wake call to President Akufo Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the 2020 general elections.

The survey by ASEPA has been greeted with mixed reactions by a section of the public.

Speaking to Citizen Kofi Owusu monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the political philosopher and lecturer, said he is not surprised by the result of the findings but rather sad for New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“This is a warning to Government they should be fair to themselves and act. Again the should be sincere and begin to ponder over the performance of their Ministers or else they would lose the seat in 2020”, he said.

“This should be a wake-up call to government, and also the President should kick out the lazy ministers who are enjoying from the national treasures but little to account for before he loses the seat,” he added

The 2019 ASEPA assessment report by Ministers of state under the Akufo Addo led administration is among many political types of research that have been done by governance Think Tanks at some premier universities across the country.

Meanwhile, the Executive Secretary for the Alliance For Social Equity And Public Accountability (ASEPA) Mr. Mensah Thompson has revealed that, his team will furnish a draft copy of the findings to the Presidency for perusals and onward recommendations respectively.
