Kwame Jantuah, a senior member of the Convention People's Party (CPP), has urged respect for the media's role in upholding democracy, stressing the importance of press freedom.
Speaking at a JoyNews national dialogue on media freedom, Jantuah warned against taking media freedoms for granted, as this could harm society. He reminded the police to serve and protect citizens' rights without abusing their power.
Jantuah also called for ongoing discussions on press freedom beyond election periods, emphasizing the need to educate younger generations.
He shared a personal story about his sister, a journalist, to underline his commitment to supporting and protecting the media.
