The Cement Manufacturing Development Committee is set to revoke the licenses of manufacturers who fail to comply with the Trade Ministry’s new pricing requirements under a recently laid Legislative Instrument (L.I.).
Chairman Professor Alex Dodoo, speaking on Joy FM, emphasized that the L.I. focuses on regulating ex-factory prices to stabilize market prices and ensure fair competition.
Despite resistance from manufacturers, Prof Dodoo advocates for transparency in pricing and quality.
However, Minority member Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed criticizes the L.I., arguing that it remains unchanged and suggests alternative solutions to price regulation.
