The US-based lawyer in an August 20 Facebook post used two words that have characterised the former NDC chairman for the past few weeks - propaganda and apology.
The post read: "Don’t waste your youth on propaganda and undermine your old age with apologies. At all times, let your conscience monitor your stomach."
Allotey Jacobs has in recent times publicly admitted to using propaganda to smear former president John Agyekum Kufuor whiles he was in office.
Following the admission twice on local radio - Peace FM and later on Asempa FM - he sought and was granted audience with Kufuor recently, at a meeting he was eventually granted forgiveness.
Allotey's public confessions:
On Peace FM, weeks back, he admitted to backing a falsehood peddled at the time by former Ambassador Victor Smith, to the effect that Kufuor had taken a US$5 million bribe from a Kuwaiti businessman.
“We were only yearning to come to power so we were just blackmailing. I went for confession in Rome and informed the Pope that this is what I have done so he should pardon me and seek long life for me, that is why I am here today.
“I know what I am saying will attract insults for me on social media. I have said that what goes around comes around. When it got to their turn, they are calling it anti-party conduct and so on," he said on Peace FM.
Later whiles appearing on Asempa FM, he reiterated his 'sins' and explained why he was coming out to tell the truth about what transpired at the time.
“I will let the world know what we did against President Kufuor and that is why I will spill the beans. It will be a season for political and law students to know things we do to undermine political leaders.
"It worked for us because we won the elections. We also lied that President Kufuor had promised to relocate the sea to Kumasi. We told people that and they believed it.”
“I’m coming out because when they did it to me I felt it and I realized it wasn’t right so I want us to stop this politics of character assassination undermining and blackmailing. If we stop this, I’m sure, we will have peace in our politics,” Allotey Jacobs stated.
