Minister of Communication and Digitalisation Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has clarified that MTN is not excluded from Ghana's 5G rollout plans.
Concerns arose when the government announced 5G plans without MTN in the Next-Gen InfraCo consortium.
Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show, Owusu-Ekuful assured that MTN would eventually participate, dismissing claims of their exclusion as false. She emphasized that discussions are ongoing, offering all network operators, including MTN, the chance to invest in Next-Gen InfraCo.
The 5G consortium includes Ascend Digital, K-NET, Radisys, Nokia, Tech Mahindra, AT Ghana, and Telecel Ghana.
