Bawku Central MP, Mahama Ayariga, has explained that security concerns prevented NDC presidential candidate John Mahama from visiting Bawku during his regional tour.
Advised by security experts, Mahama bypassed the conflict zone to protect his entourage and residents.
This decision upset local youth, leading to protests and the burning of party posters.
Ayariga apologized for the situation, citing safety and time constraints, and assured that Mahama would visit Bawku later in his campaign.
