Former President John Mahama has vowed to explore alternatives to the contentious betting tax and eliminate both the Electronic Levy (E-Levy) and the tax on betting winnings if elected.
Speaking at the NDC's Youth Townhall Meeting in Accra, Mahama criticized the E-Levy for failing to meet revenue targets and adding financial strain on citizens.
His campaign pledges are part of a broader strategy to address Ghana's economic challenges and improve conditions for local talent migration, aiming for a more organized process to benefit both individuals and the country.
