Mahama promises an extra one day for Eid-ul Fitr holiday

NDC’s 2024 flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has promised the Muslim community a two-day Eid-ul Fitr holiday if elected.

Speaking during his North East Region campaign tour, Mahama highlighted challenges with Eid celebrations due to moon visibility, causing Muslims to celebrate on different days.

He said adding an extra day would allow all Muslims to fully observe the holiday.

Mahama also expressed concerns over the rising Hajj pilgrimage costs in recent years and pledged to make it more affordable for prospective pilgrims if he wins the election.
