Man, 27 commits suicide in mother’s room

The Police at Asokwa in the Ashanti region Kumasi has commenced investigations into a suicide case which occurred Friday at Atonsu S line.

Simon Opoku who is believed to be 27 committed suicide in the early hours of Friday Morning in Kumasi with reason for the unfortunate incident yet to be established.

The mother of the deceased Janet Owusu who spoke to Abusua News Mmeramtei Hene Wireko Brobbey said, she had left home for the market as a petty trader only to meet her son’s lifeless body dangling in her room upon arrival.

”I left home in the morning to the Market around 5 am on Thursday but upon arrival, I saw someone standing in my room so I quickly asked who was standing there but had no response.”

She continued ”So I ended up calling people to assist me identify who the person was only to find out that my son Simon has hanged himself to the ceiling fan in the room.”

”I really don’t know what might have caused his sudden death”. He's a ”Trotro” mate so he normally wakes up at dawn to do his work and return home later”.

The deceased body has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Morgue as the Asokwa divisional police conduct its investigation into the untimely death of the young man.
