The Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa, Sulemana Braimah, expressed concern about the partisan ownership of media organizations in Ghana and its impact on media freedom.
He highlighted that many media houses are set up for the business of political propaganda rather than journalism.
Braimah also discussed the ethical violations recorded by the MFWA, with nearly 60% of the violations associated with overtly partisan media outlets.
Additionally, he pointed out the challenges journalists face when expressing critical commentary and the need to defend media freedom while addressing inflammatory remarks that could incite attacks or controversies.
