Over the past months, the Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, has complained bitterly about how he struggles to work due to lack of proper office space and the unavailability of sufficient staff at his disposal, hence making his work cumbersome.
Reacting to this, Daniel Domelevo lamented about the inadequate space allocated to the Special Prosecutor and called on government to resource him to work effectively.
Moreover, he believes the Special Prosecutor's office is a sensitive area set to deal with corrupt officials so he must be properly equipped to champion the cause without any hindrance.
“ This is an office which is supposed to seize assets of people who have misused government’s money, and when he seizes people’s vehicles, etc where is he going to keep it?” he questioned.
According to the Auditor-General, the Special Prosecutor will be able to yield results when given the right facility, as well as being provided with adequate staff strength.
“Has he got the system in place to manage these resources, so in his present situation, I don’t think he can operate fully as he should,” he said.
