Media Coalition Against Galamsey to stage red band protest October 10

The Media Coalition Against Galamsey plans to hold a “Red Band” protest on October 10, 2024, in support of Organised Labour’s strike against illegal mining.

Convener Kenneth Ashigbey announced the protest on the Citi Breakfast Show, urging participants to wear red bands and tie them on vehicles.

The protest seeks to pressure the government to take action against illegal mining after failing to ban it.

Ghanaians are encouraged to share their participation on social media using #StopGalamseynow, #SaveOurLand, and #SaveOurFuture until the government addresses the issue.
