Convener of a group known as Save NPP Now, Baah Acheamfour, has accused the media of being soft on President Nana Akufo-Addo and Hajia Fati, a party supporter, hence the recent assault of a journalist by the latter.

Hajia Fati has been accused of slapping a journalist of the Multimedia Group who was covering events at the NPP’s headquarters on Friday 4 May 2018 as the party’s suspended Second National Vice Chair, Sammy Crabbe, went to pick his nomination forms.

She allegedly slapped Ohemaa Sekyiwaa as she tried taking pictures of events at the party’s headquarters.

According to Ohemaa Sekyiwaa, Hajia Fati was infuriated at Mr Crabbe, for coming to the party's headquarters to pick nomination forms to contest in the upcoming elections. In her bid to get an interview, the embittered Hajia Fati smashed the reporter's phone and punched her mouth, accusing her of working for Mr Crabbe.

Commenting on the matter on Class91.3FM’s Executive Breakfast Show on Tuesday, 8 May 2018, Mr Acheamfour said the media had been silent on similar actions by Hajia Fati for many years, hence her confidence to now attack a journalist under the watch of NPP leaders.

“You have pampered this woman and Nana Addo for far too long and I’m telling you that this woman will go ahead [and] beat policemen and nothing will happen,” he told host of the show, Moro Awudu.

“Do you think the woman, on her own strength can go this far? No! She derives her strength from a certain corner that you people should fish for.

“The GJA wants to go to court. They should go to court and nothing will happen”, he indicated, adding: “These guys are there [at the headquarters] and when any of the members come they take GHS1, GHS2, GHS3, if you don’t give them then a fight emerges”.

He continued: “That woman, she is not working but she is using A Prado with a driver; who is paying for it? Who is buying her fuel? Who bought her the car? So, she has the power to do all these to journalists. It won’t go anywhere because you have pampered her and her boss who is Nana Addo for far too long and this is the outcome”.
