The Medical Laboratory Professional Workers' Union (MELPWU) has temporarily suspended its strike, with members returning to work on June 24 to prepare for full services on June 25.
This decision followed a meeting with the National Labour Commission (NLC) and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission.
General Secretary Dr. Cephas Kofi Akortor stated the union's resolution to halt the strike and warned facility managers against mistreating members. He apologized to clients for any inconvenience caused.
The strike, which began on June 17, disrupted services in medical laboratories and was a response to delays in negotiations with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission and the Ministry of Finance.
