It seems controversial Lawyer, Maurice Ampaw is ‘sick and tired’ of aggrieved Menzgold customers who always blame President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for their predicament with demonstrations.
He says their behaviour is now “irritating” after urging them to seek proper legal actions than the fruitless demonstrations and blame games.
“I don’t have a problem with the President; my problem is with Menzgold customers. If they had tone down and use proper channels not the unnecessary noise and insults, I am sure NAM 1 might be in the country for Menzgold customers to dialogue with him and with the help of security agencies to find all his properties, sell them and pay us” he said.
His comment comes after some aggrieved customers of gold dealership firm Menzgold said they are disappointed in President Akufo-Addo's nonchalance about their predicament.
Hundreds of Ghanaians who invested their funds with the troubled gold dealership company have appealed to government to come to their aid.
Some of the customers were at Parliament House with placards to picket.
But, President Akufo-Addo has described the Menzgold saga as a tragic phenomenon, as he publicly spoke on the matter for the first time during his third State of the Nation Address on Thursday. February 21, 2019.
The President was unhappy the customers ignored several warnings by the regulators and urged them to learn lessons for the future.
Speaking on the issues on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, Maurice Ampaw who is also a customer of the gold dealership firm Menzgold said the approach being used by his fellow customers are not the best.
“Nobody can blame President Nana Addo for anything; he has done nothing wrong and did not force anyone to invest. Menzgold was already operating before Nana Addo became president. Who among the customers went to Nana Addo for advice before investing?” he questioned
Adding that, “In fact who among the customer share his or her benefits/profits with President Nana Addo? The customers should be calm and use due process that this noise making.”
