Menzgold Ghana Limited claims it will soon outdoor a comprehensive final payment plan to settle its debts, YEN.com.gh can report.
In an interview with TV3’s Ebenezer Agyekum, Nii Armah Amarteifio, Menzgold’s director of communications, stated on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, that only the principal amounts will be paid.
According to 3news.com, he said it is in line with the agreement reached at a meeting with customers in the year 2018.
Three months after the shutdown of Menzgold Ghana Limited in September 2018, a bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of all directors of the company.
Customers have staged a number of demonstrations across the country, demanding payment of their deposits.
Amarteifio, however, indicated the behind-the-scenes engagement with stakeholders involves the board of the company.
“Immediately we are done, then we will come out with the final payment schedule that will now spell out when we are going to pay our customers,” he noted.
He said it was unfortunate Menzgold was unable to follow the payment plans in 2018, and blamed the situation on the challenges it went through.
On that score, he apologised for the company’s actions and claimed that efforts were being made to ensure that all challenges are dealt with.
