The Minority in Parliament criticized the absence of Interior Minister Henry Quartey, Local Government Minister Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, and Lands Minister Samuel Abu Jinapor from a July 18 session meant to address illegal recruitment and state land takeovers.
Majority leaders cited a cabinet retreat, but MP Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed rejected this as "untenable," emphasizing the need for legislative independence from the executive.
Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Amoako Asiamah instructed Majority Leadership to ensure ministers' attendance in Parliament, highlighting the importance of their presence for accountability.
