Minority demands probe into $200m ‘questionable’ oil contract

The Minority Caucus in Parliament is seeking a parliamentary probe into a $200 million contract between Jubilee oil partners and Intesoll Engineering for subsea services.

The Minority claims Intesoll was awarded the contract without competitive bidding for the Go Supporter subsea vessel.

John Jinapor, Ranking Member on the Energy and Mines Committee, expressed concerns about the contract's value, technical and financial competence of Intesoll, and the rationale for sole sourcing and a five-year term.

The inquiry will involve all relevant agencies and stakeholders, including GNPC, the Petroleum Commission, Ministry of Energy, and Tullow.
