The Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG) has announced an indefinite nationwide strike beginning Thursday, September 27.

According to the General Secretary, Richard Kofi Jordan, this decision follows unresolved issues, including inadequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), unpaid salary arrears since 2020, staffing shortages, and unfulfilled promises of COVID-19 bonuses.

Despite meetings with government agencies, no concrete action has been taken. The association rejected a government request for more time, insisting on immediate resolution.

Mortuary workers are instructed to close all facilities until their demands are met.
