Mrs Bawumia donates to TTH

Mr Samira Bawumia, wife of the Vice President has donated medical equipment to the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) to support it in delivering quality health care to patients.

The items donated included; incubators, oxygen tubes cannulas, disinfectants, amongst other equipment.

Mrs Bawumia, who donated the items to hospital authorities in Tamale on Thursday, assured of soliciting the necessary support to resolve the challenges facing the hospital to enable it deliver on its mandate.

She said “The TTH is very dear to my heart and I will support it in whatever way necessary to help it stand firmly to deliver quality tertiary health care to our dear citizens.”

She said government was committed to resourcing vital institutions to function efficiently assuring of doing everything possible to ensure that TTH was adequately resourced to perform its functions.

Mr Salifu Saeed, Northern Regional Minister called on staff of TTH support Management of the hospital in its efforts to deliver quality health care to patients.

Dr David Zaawumya Kolbila, Acting Chief Executive Officer of TTH said the facility was ready to team up with foreign doctors to cure special diseases and sicknesses that hitherto were not treated in the country because of lack of expertise and facilities.

He expressed gratitude to Mrs Bawumia for the gesture saying the item would greatly help to improve on their operations.
