Muntaka is a big waste, we will snatch his seat in 2020 - Wontumi

Ashanti Regional Chairman of NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako Ashanti Regional Chairman of NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako

As leader of the New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti region, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has threatened to weaken the base of the National Democratic Congress in the region by snatching their Asawase Parliamentary seat in 2020.

The Ashanti regional Chairman noted that the NPP's candidate for the area, Alhaji Alidu Seidu, was going to win massively against the current MP for the area in 2020.

According to Mr. Antwi-Boasiako, the grounds has not been fertile for Hon. Muntaka and the NDC in the Ashanti region; and 2020 would be a year they would handover the Asawase seat to the New Patriotic Party.

The MP for Asawase, Hon. Muntaka has openly replied Pesident Akufo-Addo for calling on the people of Asawase to replace him with another person in Parliament in 2020.

The Minority Chief Whip has asked the President to direct his call to the people of the Suame Constituency to get Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu nicknamed Mugabe out of Parliament.

He stated that the Majority Leader has nothing to show for the 24 years that he would be in parliament by the end of his current tenure.

But Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi revealed that the NPP has already put measures in place to safeguard Osei Kyei Mensa Bonsu's seat in Suame.

He continued that the wish of Hon. Muntaka cannot be granted since voters in the Suame place more value on their MP, Kyei Mensah-Bonsu than an incompetent legislator like him (Muntaka)

"The people of Suame recognize the works of Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu and it is highly likely they would retain him in 2020. But that cannot be said about Muntaka, he is a big waste and we are going to take his seat in 2020. He isn't a material fit to be in Parliament. He is slow when it comes to learning and the time has come for him to be kicked out", Chairman Wontumi said.
