NCCE warns of rising voter willingness to engage in election violence

Kathleen Addy, Chairperson of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has raised concerns about the growing willingness of Ghanaians to engage in election-related violence.

This worry follows an NCCE report revealing that some voters are ready to resort to violence for party interests or in response to electoral misconduct.

Speaking on October 23, Addy urged for stronger government institutions to restore public confidence in the electoral process.

She called for the use of established conflict resolution mechanisms, like the Peace Council, to address disputes and prevent violence during elections.
