Legislators from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) plan to challenge a motion by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to recall Parliament following an indefinite adjournment initiated by the Speaker after NPP MPs walked out on October 21.
South Dayi MP Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor criticized the NPP for allegedly abusing the recall provision and announced the NDC's intent to seek a court directive to block the request.
The NPP's letter to the Speaker emphasizes urgent government business needing approval, including tax exemptions and a financial stability fund, claiming the Speaker is constitutionally obligated to recall Parliament within seven days.
