Mr Bismark Tetteh Nyarko, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Upper Manya Constituency, has donated medical items to three health facilities to support them in the fighting COVID-19 pandemic in the constituency.
Each of the three health facilities received 20 boxes of mouth and nose masks, 20 boxes of surgical gloves, 110 bottles of hand sanitizers, and 100 gallons of liquid soap.
The beneficiary facilities were the Asesewa District Hospital, Sekesua Health Centre, and Akateng Health Centre.
Before this donation, Mr Nyarko had donated 70 veronica buckets, 70 gallons of liquid soap, hand sanitizers and 100 packs of tissue papers to the health facilities.
Presenting the items Mr Nyarko said, he was touched by the challenges facing the health workers when he got to know that the facilities did not have enough Personal Protective Equipment (PPE’s).
He explained that there was the need for health workers to be supported to prepare adequately in readiness to fight the pandemic should there be an outbreak in the constituency.
He stressed on the need for everyone in the constituency to practice appropriate social distancing and strictly adhere to the health and safety protocols outlined by the health officials.
The NDC PC was accompanied to the facilities by Mr Seth Terkper, former Finance Minister, Mr Amoanor Tetteh, former Member of Parliament(MP), Lawyer Kofi Amoatey, MP for Yilo Krobo, Mr Jeff Kavianu, former MP for Upper Manya Constituency, and Alhaji Moro, Constituency Chairman of the party.
