NDC group shoots down Asiedu Nketia’s Vice Presidential dream

A pro National Democratic Congress (NDC) group, Action Movement has shot down the dream of General Secretary of the party to become a Vice Presidential Candidate to John Dramani Mahama.

According to statement issued and signed by James Agbey, the group observed that the party’s scribe has not got what it takes to partner John Dramani Mahama in the 2020 polls.

It added that the name of Asiedu Nketia affectionately called General Mosquito cannot has not come up anywhere for consideration for the slot stating that it takes offense in his media antics.

“Action Movement want to put on record that Asiedu Nkentia is not qualified for the position of Presidential running mate on the ticket of the NDC. The man simply lacks the leadership qualities for unification and he’s bankrupt of ideas”, the statement said.

The NDC Action Movement have become aware of a number of media publications in which the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia is reported to have disclosed his interest in partnering our flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama as running mate for the 2020 elections.

We are also aware of intense horse-trading, lobbying and self-promotional gimmicks going on in NDC quarters all in an attempt to get the flagbearer’s attention and sway his choice of a running mate.

Even though we know too well that Asiedu Nkentia’s name CANNOT, and HAS NOT come up for consideration by the flagbearer, we need to set a few records straight here.

Action Movement want to put on record that Asiedu Nkentia is not qualified for the position of Presidential running mate on the ticket of the NDC. The man simply lacks the leadership qualities for unification and he’s bankrupt of ideas.

Presidential running mate position does not come with the sort of jokes and primitivity associated with Asiedu Nkentia. It is also not about wearing a female winter jacket on a foreign state visits.

The position of running mate entails more than the qualities Asiedu Nkentia posses, and we are by this statement cautioning all those attempting to elevate this on top of our national discourse to desist from such suicidal actions.

The fact that many of our party folks applauds Asiedu Nkentia’s grasp on party matters should not give him false sense of invincibility and entitlement.

Action Movement takes serious offense to Mr Nkentia’s media antics. We are lifelong NDC and we think the party is a pretty decent entity for the likes of Asiedu Nkentia to be considered for it’s presidential running mate.

We want the salt of the earth type of people to lead the party. Asiedu Nkentia is definitely not one of such people. He is reputed for so many vile, vicious and derogatory commentary in our body politics. Such a filmflam confidence man with zero moral standing must not be allowed to even dream of ascending the high office of vice president.

The NDC can certainly do better than Asiedu Nkentia and his likes.

Let the jokes end now, and let’s set ourselves free of this nightmare.

We also call on the flagbearer, John Mahama to keep his focus and settle on a person with credibility, tenacity and integrity – An intellectual and a unifier who would bring many aggrieved members and the floating voters on board the NDC train.
