The National Democratic Congress (NDC) while in power weakened its executives led by Ebenezer Kofi Ofori Portuphy while it gave much power to comedians and entertainers according to an activist of the party, Dela Coffie.

He observed that the party preferred empowering the likes of Madam Akua Donkor and some so-called celebrities with sponsored foreign trips while weakening the party structures at the base.

Comparing happenings to that of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) which is strategically positioning itself for the 2020 polls under the watch of Mr. Sammi Awuku its National Organiser, he noted that the polls will be won by the party with the best strategies

He advised the NDC to endeavor to examine the real facts and pay attention to the basic details especially in respect of the involvement of celebrities in its campaigns.

His post on Facebook sighted by MyNewsGh.com reads in part “ It is such a shame that when the NDC had the opportunity in government, its party structures and officers were rather weakened while entertainers like #AkuaDonkor and some so-called celebrities got empowered through dozens of foreign trips and whatnot

People, election 2020 will be won by the party with the best strategies. Let’s take a step back, examine real facts, not rhetoric that is preached daily and pay attention to basic details.

So much for throwing mud while shooting blanks….

The former Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Mr. Koku Anyidoho while speaking to some journalists in Accra recently said that the party shall not use the same tactics in the 2020 elections.

“One million of our voters did not vote for us in 2016. They do not have any understanding of the party’s philosophy and the history. Never again should we put our campaign in the hands of strangers. Never again should we hand over the NDC’s campaign to celebrities,” he said.
