NDC member reportedly shot by NPP MP's bodyguard during coronation at Awutu Bereku

The Awutu Senya East NDC is calling for justice after its member, Ato Odoom, was shot during a coronation at Awutu Bereku.

The party alleges the suspect is a bodyguard of MP and Minister for Fisheries Mavis Hawa Koomson.

Odoom, who was performing with a brass band, is currently hospitalized.

NDC Parliamentary candidate Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunor and members protested at the Kasoa Divisional Police Command, demanding the arrest of the suspect, identified as Twa Sa.

NDC Communications Officer Stephen Delali pledged to monitor the case closely.


Meanwhile, one suspect, Nai Akwasi Lartey, was arrested by the Ghana Police Service in connection with a shooting.

Nai Akwasi Lartey used a pump action gun to injure a person during the Awubia Festival and the gun with BB cartridges was reportedly recovered from the suspect.

The suspect is currently in police custody aiding the investigation.
