The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has outlined specific conditions that must be met before it agrees to sign the Peace Pact for the upcoming December 7 elections.
National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia expressed doubts about the effectiveness of previous Peace Pacts, citing the deaths of eight NDC members in the 2020 elections.
The NDC's conditions include the full implementation of recommendations from the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election investigation, prosecution of those responsible for election violence, accountability for ballot paper irregularities, an investigation into missing Electoral Commission equipment, and a public commitment from the President to respect the 2024 election results.
The party also demands that key figures, such as the Inspector General of Police and the Chief Justice, sign the Peace Pact.
