The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly opposed any move to remove Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, amidst reports suggesting he might be forced to take leave.
The Ghana Police Service has denied these claims, asserting the IGP's commitment under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's directive.
However, the NDC remains skeptical, alleging a plan to replace Dampare as part of election manipulation tactics.
Deputy Secretary Mustapha Gbande accused President Akufo-Addo of prioritizing personal interests over national welfare and warned against undermining democratic processes, vowing resistance to electoral interference.
