The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has successfully disbursed 587,236.00 cedis to six major healthcare providers for chronic dialysis treatments in June.
This marks the first month of a new government initiative aimed at supporting renal patients.
Participating hospitals including KATH, CCTH, ENRH, HTH, TTH, and KBTH have received reimbursements to ensure uninterrupted dialysis care.
The initiative, announced on June 1, 2024, offers free dialysis sessions for high-risk renal patients under 18 and over 60 years, with partial coverage for those aged 18-59.
