The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has released an additional GH¢135.6 million to healthcare providers across Ghana to settle outstanding claims.
This funding covers claims for February 2024 for higher-tier providers and March 2024 for most lower-tier facilities, aiming to reduce payment gaps and ensure all reimbursements are within the agreed three-month period.
This follows a previous disbursement of GH¢300 million.
NHIA CEO Dr. Dacosta Aboagye emphasized the importance of healthcare providers in the success of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and reiterated the Authority's commitment to preventing illegal charges and maintaining strong partnerships with healthcare facilities.
