The National Identification Authority (NIA) has reported that over 110,000 Ghana Cards are being withheld due to double registration issues.
Despite issuing more than 18 million cards, about 150,000 are still pending.
Prof. Kenneth Agyeman Attafuah, NIA's Executive Secretary, revealed that investigations into these multiple registrations are underway.
As of August 20, 2024, there are 559,457 pending cards, with 150,896 ready for printing.
The NIA is addressing the delinquency of the 110,936 cards linked to double registrations.
