The National Labour Commission has ordered the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) to end its strike, which began on June 14, 2024, over the government's delay in implementing an arbitral award and negotiated service conditions.
The commission has decided to sue the government for enforcement of the award, which includes payment of one month's salary to each member for additional duties performed in 2022.
The commission expects the employer to begin implementing the award by June 26, and CETAG will meet with its constituents to decide on the order to end the strike.
