NPA, OMCs to meet striking tanker drivers today

The strike by the National Petroleum Tanker Drivers Union, which has entered its third day, poses a threat of fuel shortage.

However, the Association of Oil Marketing Companies and the National Petroleum Authority are set to meet with the striking drivers on May 23, with hopes to avert the crisis by May 24.

Riverson Oppong, representing the NPA, expressed confidence that the strike would be called off after the meeting, as efforts are being made to address the drivers' demands for better conditions of service, including salary payments.

The strike has raised concerns about potential disruptions in fuel supply nationwide.
