It was a colorful ceremony at the ‘Black Star Square’ (Independence Square) on Wednesday the 17th of October, when H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo declared a 100, 000 Ghanaians, ‘ready for work’ under the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) initiative.
For us at the National Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party, yesterday was one of the happiest moments in our lives. So many young people who have endured years of unemployment were given another reason to smile.
They thronged the ‘Independence Square’ with messages of hope boldly written on their faces as they sang and chanted at the ceremony yesterday.
We salute the young men and women of our Country who signed up for the NABCO initiative and were passed-out yesterday.
As expressed by H. E The President, yesterday, we ‘began the process of banishing the spectre of desperation, and restoring hope and dignity to our youth’
The NABCO initiative, is undoubtedly the boldest step in tackling the chronic unemployment challenge that has bedevilled our Country all these years.
While providing unemployed graduates with jobs, the program equally presents a rare opportunity for the youth of this country to train on the Job and acquire the requisite skills for the ever competitive job market.
The Youth Wing believes in the competence and tenacity of the Ghanaian Youth to deliver beyond expectations and thus, admonish beneficiaries of this life-changing programme to at all times work diligently in honesty and humility.
The Youth of this country are grateful to H. E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana and H. E Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President, for the numerous youth-oriented initiatives that are fast reviving the confidence of the Youth in Ghana’ prospects.
Finally, we wish to also congratulate the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NABCO, Dr Anyars Ibrahim and his team for their hard work in making this dream a reality.
May the Good Lord bless NABCO.
…Signed… Henry Nana Boakye (National Youth Organizer)
