NPP dismisses claims of plotting to rig 2024 election with a top military officer

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has rejected claims by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of plotting with the military to rig the 2024 elections.

At a press conference, NDC’s National Communication Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, announced plans to petition the Inspector General of Police over concerns about a potential attempt to subvert the people’s mandate.

Responding, NPP Deputy General Secretary Haruna Mohammed dismissed the allegations as baseless. He accused the NDC of making such claims to justify their anticipated loss.

Mohammed referenced similar accusations made in the 2016 and 2020 elections, noting the NPP won despite those claims.

He emphasized that elections are won at polling stations and urged the NDC to focus on grassroots campaigning rather than propaganda.
