NPP now dealing with mercenaries – Anyidoho

Deputy General Secretary of the (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, Deputy General Secretary of the (NDC), Koku Anyidoho,

A deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, says the arrest of the three South Africans by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for allegedly engaging in illegal training attest to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) desperation for power.

According to him, he is least surprised by the importation of mercenaries by the NPP to come and distabilise the country because of the power Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo is looking for.

“The NPP is now dealing with mercenaries because somebody wants power at all cost. It is very scary. They did it to Kwame Nkrumah and now want to do it again”, he fumed.

Three former South African Police officers were rounded up on Sunday by operatives of the BNI at the El Capitano Hotel in Agona Duakwa in the Central Region for engaging in acts that have the potential of threatening national security.

The three, Major Ahmed Shaik Hazis, 54, (Rtd),WO/ Denver Dwayhe Naidu, 39, (Rtd) and 45-year-old Captain Mlungiseleli Jokani (Rtd) were arrested while training fifteen young men in various military drills, including unarmed combat, weapon handling, VIP protection techniques and rapid response maneuvers.

According to the BNI, the ex-Police officers entered the country weeks ago on business visas. Leader of the three, Hazis has told officials that they were brought into the country by one Capt. Koda, who is head of security detail for NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo.

Hazis, Kasapafmonline.com learnt, was part of Akufo-Addo’s security detail during the 2012 elections, it’s been suggested.

A livid Anyidoho speaking in an interview with Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3, Tuesday, said the arrest of the three shows that the security situation in the country is unlike what prevailed in 2012.

“If they were here in 2012, why were they not picked up? Their arrest means that the circumstances have changed this time around”, he noted.

He told Banson that all his checks have revealed that Capt. Koda is the brain behind the importation of the mercenaries into the country but assured that he (Koda) will not succeed with his mission of destabilizing the country.

“Nobody should panic and nobody should be afraid. The elections will be conducted in a peaceful manner and a president will be crowned. Akufo-Addo cannot intimidate anybody”.
