The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) and the Police will deploy officers on major roads nationwide from November 1, 2024, to reduce road crashes and enforce traffic rules.
This comes after a recent spike in accidents, leading to 30 deaths in a month.
Causes include speeding and reckless driving. The NRSA is also investigating a crash near Obuasi and reminded political parties to follow safety guidelines during campaigns.
Commercial transport operators must register with the NRSA or face penalties, and "floating" operators have until March 2025 to comply.
Parents are urged to ensure their children’s road safety.
