The National Service Scheme (NSS) has planned to assign personnel to foreign countries, including Nigeria, the UK, and the US, as part of a new decade-long policy.

Despite criticism for deviating from its mandate and ongoing issues like unpaid allowances, Ambrose Esaah, Director of Corporate Affairs at the NSS, defended the plan, likening it to university exchange programs.

Additionally, Parliament's Education Committee revealed a plan to deploy personnel to The Gambia, funded by the World Bank and the Gambian government.

The recent National Service Authority Bill 2024, which allows for overseas assignments, also proposes modifying the service age limit.
