As part of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) mandate to create and facilitate employment for the youth of Ghana between the ages of 15 and 35, the Agency has introduced four key initiatives to create sustainable employment.
These initiatives comprise the Job Centre, a platform to link job seekers to employers and Artisan Directory which is also center that will train and set up artisans such as beauticians, masons, carpenters, fashion designers and make them accessible through the use of ICT.
The other initiative is and Agric-based Flagship programs and development initiatives in various regions and districts taking into cognizance the natural endowment and comparative advantage. These include maize Farms, fish farms, smock village, cassava, plantain etc.
The final one is a ‘Work Abroad Program’ which is also to enable export of young professionals into other countries nurses, teachers
Announcing the initiatives in Accra yesterday, Deputy Information centre, Pius Enam Hadzide added that the program will be launched by the Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia on October 2, 2019.
He entreated all employers and jobseekers to attend the launch.
