Nana Soglo Alloh IV of the Likpe Traditional Council has been elected President of the Oti Regional House of Chiefs, securing 8 out of 14 votes to defeat incumbent Nana Mprah Besemuna, who received 6 votes.
The election, held on September 30, 2024, marks a leadership change for the Oti Region.
Nana Soglo emphasized the need for unity among chiefs to promote peace and stability, tackle land disputes, and ensure regional development.
Nana Mprah Besemuna pledged his support for the new administration, while the newly elected Vice President, Nana Obombo Lepuwura Sewura, called for collective efforts to overcome the region's challenges.
