In the Manhyia South Constituency primary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), private legal practitioner Nana Adjei Baffour Awuah emerged victorious on Sunday, July 14.
He secured 376 votes, defeating Nana Owusu Prempeh, the brother of the outgoing MP, who received 141 votes.
Among the other contestants, Akwasi Coker Gyambibi received 2 votes, while James Owusu garnered 7 votes.
This primary was held to elect a new candidate following the selection of Manhyia South MP Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the running mate to NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Initially, five individuals picked forms to contest, but only four participated on the election day.
