Dr. Joyce Aryee, a member of the National Cathedral's board of trustees, has dismissed concerns over staff payments, including CEO Dr. Paul Opoku-Mensah's salary, amid the project's halt as "ridiculous."
Addressing these concerns at a symposium with TD Jakes' divinity school, she questioned the logic behind halting organizational operations due to a construction pause.
Dr. Opoku-Mensah emphasized the cathedral’s broader significance, beyond being a church, noting its potential for revenue generation and promoting Ghana's heritage.
Despite opposition, he remains hopeful, stressing that the cathedral will foster Pan-African dialogue and host Africa’s first Museum of the Bible.
