Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu, Ghana’s National Chief Imam, has urged Parliament members to resolve their deadlock, which has heightened national tensions with elections near.
Speaking at the fourth National Muslim Conference of Ghana (NMCG), he highlighted Muslims’ significant roles in healthcare and called for partnership in national health initiatives.
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia announced a plan to recognize faith-based groups as development partners and donated GH₵100,000 and a vehicle to NMCG.
He also praised the NMCG’s work in education and vocational training, noting their progress in launching the Ghana Muslim Chamber of Commerce and a Muslim Health Strategy.
