Organized Labour is starting a nationwide strike today to protest SSNIT's attempt to sell its 60% stake in four hotels.
Despite SSNIT announcing the termination of the sale to Rock City Hotel, owned by Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong, and Rock City Hotel withdrawing its bid, Organized Labour remains determined to strike.
Dr. Eliasu Mumuni, National Secretary of UTAG, expressed disappointment over what he calls a breach of trust by SSNIT, which he claims ignored their concerns.
Organized Labour demands a restructuring of the SSNIT board, insisting current members should be replaced to restore trust.
